Heaven and Hell is one of the best songs of the Dio era of Black Sabbath. Released over forty years ago (in 1980) with the homonymous 9th studio album, it was their first after Ozzy left the band. And it rocked. Some may say this is not Sabbath, but that’s another story. Just listen:

This awesomely remastered video of Iron Maiden performing live in Germany from early 1981 is just amazing. Shows the roots of the band and justifies Paul Di’Anno saying it was a metal punk band. And most songs sound even better than the studio versions. A truly brilliant performance of four gifted musicians and a great singer. Clive Burr on drums just rocks. Just listen his take on Phantom of the Opera.
A great song, an astonishing live performance (on par with, say, Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”), something you ought to experience live. Just watch these guys playing, hear Morello’s guitar solo. Read through the lyrics, too. Or better read John Steinbeck novel, “The Grapes Of Wrath”.
